It is indeed a pleasure to Welcome you to the new upgraded Jacobs Family website. Who would have thought that just a few years ago ,in 2018,we had our first formal Jacobs Family Reunion in Durban. That was an historic event. The thought had been in our minds for years, but never came to fruition. Until the realization struck us that Time was not on our side, as many of the older generation passed on. Everyone seemed to be writing their little memoirs in the odd book. And there small family get togethers, but nothing on a national scale. It was Shariefa Aysen (Jacobs) and the youngest brother Yusuf Jacobs who set the wheels in motion. With the assistance of other family members the first Jacobs Family Reunion took place in Durban in 2018. As a first effort it was heralded as a Success, but left much to be desired. The 2022 Family Reunion in Cape Town showed an unprecedented degree of improvement, and was declared the Best Ever! These two events dominate the current website but the objectives are way beyond that.
The initial website was a sketchy affair but did help to consolidate things, In particular the Jacobs Family Tree became a significant focus. And this will in future expand and become more sophisticated and helpful. It is an historic item .
The new website is a huge leap in sophistication . The fundamentals are there ,but we are a long way from the the desired ideals we look to. With your co operation that will happen.
Once you in the site it is relatively easy to negotiate. There are different categories and they in turn have several sections. At the bottom of each you will find them indicated as 1, 2 etc. and an arrow. We will clarify some things in due course. A major innovation will be the section NEWS , which will be open to every family member, to communicate directly with everyone. The details will follow.
